This little girl will be a Big sister in February. Our due date is 02.13.2011. All three of us are extremely excited!

So I finished the first of two flower girl dresses for my sister’s wedding. Here it is:

These girls will be the cutest ones at the wedding! Cannot wait to see them in it next weekend!

Kalyssa has had this really big interest of wanting to go to school. I have been really thinking about letting her attend preschool this coming fall. However, we have made some deals with her to get her pretty much to our standards of being officially ready to go. This week we have been working with Kalyssa on writing her letters and numbers. She has a little problem with writing the letters, but the numbers are coming along really well.

The other day, I started writing numbers 1-10 on a piece of paper in slashes so she could trace them and make those numbers. Here was her first attempt:

So that same night, we went to Target and bought her a dry erase board that had all the numbers written out so she could trace them. This board also contained the whole alphabet and shapes.

Once Kalyssa wrote the numbers for a few days, I showed her that the dry erase board had a solid sheet for writing. That is when she wrote 1-4 for the first time by herself (she attempted 5, but it was a no go).

I am so proud of this little girl. We will be continuing to work on these aspects as well as the tying of her shoe. She has the concept down for tying her shoe, but has not officially completed it yet.

As Kalyssa says, “I wanna go to school.” I hope she can by the fall!

Last weekend, while at Vanessa’s bridal shower, Kalyssa and Vallory both got to hold Maddy.
