Handmade Kitchen Necessities….

First I want to apologize for not blogging as much as I want to. Things have been coming at us at whirlwind speed and changing our course of direction. Hopefully things are getting back on track….. yes there is still a change, but we are getting through it!!!

Last month, I was sitting around the room and watching Kalyssa playing with her kitchen set. I happened to notice that she was washing her dishes with a slice of bologna that I had made her. That is when it dawned on me that she really needed some necessities to complete her kitchen. So I took pieces of left over material as well as quilting squares and started sewing.  The only additional item I used to make a couple of these  of these was baton (washcloth and pot holders). Here are some pictures:

Making these was a lot of fun and I am planning on making Kalyssa some oven mitts!!

Felt Doll

I came across this on one of the blogs I frequently read. I thought this would be a wonderful gift for two little girls that I love so dearly. I made Vallory and Kalyssa both one of these dolls.  Here is the link for directions to complete these dolls. Here is the finished one I made Kalyssa.

Felt handmade doll

Vallory’s doll looked pretty much the same except the dress color is different and the hair was different.

Hand Painted Wrapping Paper

This afternoon, I let Kalyssa make her own wrapping paper. Last night, we went to Pat Catan’s and got some glass items. Well when you buy something glass, they always wrap it up in some kind of paper. I was doing some work when all of a sudden I realized, that those pieces of paper would be perfect for handmade gift wrap. That is when I grabbed some washable paint and put Kalyssa in her paint shirt and let her go to town. Here are some pictures of it!

New Outfits……

I have been on this sewing streak for the last couple of days. I have been trying to get a few new things done for Kalyssa. Her birthday is coming up in 4 days and then Christmas is not that far behind. So today I made Kalyssa a birthday outfit for her party on Sunday and also made her a sweater dress. I am also currently working on a Christmas outfit for Tim’s family gathering on the 20th. Here are the pictures of the two new outfit I completed today.
