First I want to apologize for not blogging as much as I want to. Things have been coming at us at whirlwind speed and changing our course of direction. Hopefully things are getting back on track….. yes there is still a change, but we are getting through it!!!
Last month, I was sitting around the room and watching Kalyssa playing with her kitchen set. I happened to notice that she was washing her dishes with a slice of bologna that I had made her. That is when it dawned on me that she really needed some necessities to complete her kitchen. So I took pieces of left over material as well as quilting squares and started sewing. The only additional item I used to make a couple of these of these was baton (washcloth and pot holders). Here are some pictures:

Pooh Dish Cloth

Pooh Dish Towel

More Dish Towels

Pot Holders

More Dish Clothes
Making these was a lot of fun and I am planning on making Kalyssa some oven mitts!!

I honestly never thought how great a dress-up box could really be for a child. For Kalyssa’s 3rd birthday, I bought a lot of discounted Halloween costumes (75% off) as well as some items from The Dollar Tree. Vallory and Kalyssa had a ball playing dress-up together. Here are some of the pictures:

Vallory the cheerleader

The princess hat

All girly in pink

The head piece to the lady bug costume
Kalyssa has also been dressing-up around here as well. Take a look!

Playing
This is absolutely the best investment ever!!

I came across this on one of the blogs I frequently read. I thought this would be a wonderful gift for two little girls that I love so dearly. I made Vallory and Kalyssa both one of these dolls. Here is the link for directions to complete these dolls. Here is the finished one I made Kalyssa.

Felt handmade doll
Vallory’s doll looked pretty much the same except the dress color is different and the hair was different.

The other day, I was reading a post from one of my favorite blogs, “The Idea Room,” and it was all about letters to Santa. Here is the particular post: Letters to Santa.
So I decided that this could be a start of a Christmas tradition for Kalyssa until she gets old enough to realize that Santa is not real. Just a few minutes ago, Kalyssa set down to start writing her letter.

Writing letter to Santa
Here is what her actual letter ended up looking like.

Actual letter to Santa
(Not too bad of a letter for an almost three year old!!)
While writing the letter, Kalyssa told Tim and I that she wanted Santa to bring her a computer. She also told me that she wanted Santa to bring her some new clothes as well as a box. I’m not sure why she wants a box, but I am not going to try and figure it out!
After completing the letter, I helped her address the envelope and get it all sealed so we can send it to Santa tomorrow.

All sealed, waiting to mail out tomorrow
Now, I have to try and find someone who will be willing to play Santa and send her a letter back in the mail. Honestly, I think it would really make her happy to get a letter back from Santa. Now I have a mission!!!!
