The Dress-up Box

I honestly never thought how great a dress-up box could really be for a child. For Kalyssa’s 3rd birthday, I bought a lot of discounted Halloween costumes (75% off) as well as some items from The Dollar Tree. Vallory and Kalyssa had a ball playing dress-up together. Here are some of the pictures:

Vallory the cheerleader

The princess hat

All girly in pink

The head piece to the lady bug costume

Kalyssa has also been dressing-up around here as well. Take a look!

This is absolutely the best investment ever!!

** This project can also be done using one large bowl….. however this year I could not find all the parts for that. Here is what that one looks like. (I made this last year for my sister).

Snowman Candle Holders

This is a simple and inexpensive gift idea that I just started last year. I thought you all would enjoy it!

To complete this craft, you will need:

1. Three wine glasses (all can be of same size or all different).

2. White and orange paint.

3. A black paint marker.

4. Paper or newspaper.

5. Candles.

Step 1:

Wash and dry wine glasses.

Step 2:

With the wine glasses in the upright position, squeeze enough paint to cover the bottom of the glass.

Adding paint to the wine glass.

Step 3:

Turn the glass on its side.

Glass turned on its side.

Step 4:

Roll the glass in a circle to move the paint in order to cover the inside of the glass (might have to add more paint to complete this).

Paint filled glass

Step 5:

Place completely paint glasses on paper or newspaper to dry. This could take a couple of days depending on the size of the glasses. However, make sure you move the cups after a little while setting because if not, the paper will begin to stick to the paint.

Starting the drying process

Step 6:

Once fully dry, draw a face on the outside. (You can paint the nose orange if you want).

Putting faces on the candle holders

Step 7:

Once paint on the outside dries, place a small candle on top.

Now you have a simple and cute decoration for your own home or for someone else.

Felt Doll

I came across this on one of the blogs I frequently read. I thought this would be a wonderful gift for two little girls that I love so dearly. I made Vallory and Kalyssa both one of these dolls.  Here is the link for directions to complete these dolls. Here is the finished one I made Kalyssa.

Felt handmade doll

Vallory’s doll looked pretty much the same except the dress color is different and the hair was different.

Putting up her first Christmas tree…..

This year is the first year Kalyssa was able to help put up a Christmas tree. She was helping daddy and I with Grandpapa’s (as Kalyssa calls him)  tree for tomorrow’s party.
